Chapter 10: Bob comes home
Wendy was starting to get a little concerned. She was wondering if maybe she should call the bar
he usually went to. If he was there he would get mad that she was checking up on him and that could set him off. Then again, if she didn't call and Bob was drinking he would probably
already be delusional and she would not know it. Wendy decided that she would call the bar
and hope that the bartender was someone she was familiar with so she could ask him if Bob was
there, but not to let Bob know that she had called. Wendy crossed her fingers and dailed the phone. She was in luck, Joe answered the phone at the cluck cluck. She asked Joe if Bob had
been in, he assurred her that Bob had not been in and that if he came in he would not be served more
than one beer and if she would leave a number he would call her if he came in. Well, if he was
drinking it must have started after his delusions because unless Bob thought there was a
conspiracy against him he would not have gone anywhere to drink except the cluck cluck. Where
else could Bob have gone to? Think postively, if he was doing OK on his medication and was
functioning like a sane individual where could he be? Bob was not a very socialable person, so
it was unlikely he would have gone out due to feeling lonely. Maybe he went to the park, Bob liked the park and at this time there would not be too many people there. There was no way she
could call the park, so she would just try to think positively. Ok, she could just sit down and
watch a little T.V. and take comfort from the fact that things had gone OK atleast up to the
point when the T.V. got fixed. She heard Bob's keys in the lock. OK, time to be calm and
not confrontational, she should be able to tell pretty quickly whether or not Bob was doing
OK. She should not say anything to upset Bob. As he walked in Bob looked at little flushed, that still did not mean that he was having an episode though.
"Where have you been" she asked in what she hoped was an non accusatory tone.
Ok, this is where the fun starts Bob thought. Just act cool and calm and everything will
be just fine.
"Hey Honey, I just stepped out to get a bite to eat. I was a little hungry after the
repairman left." he said. Hmmm..should he go ahead and explain about the ripped carpet, the
moved table, and the note, or should he wait for her to ask, or maybe just tell her about
the carpet because that was more memorial than doodling on paper would have been.....Bob decided to just go with the flow.
